Alicia Keys Feat Eve - Speechless
Swizz Beatz released the final episode from his Monster Mondays series for the year and what a song to end it with. Featuring the sultry vocals of his baby mother Alicia Keys and his old Ruff Ryders team mate, Eve, the track has instantly grown on me already. Love it.
Thought it was be ludicrous of me not to post anything closely related to the hype that is Pow 2011. The video released over the weekend but I came across a refix
video which caught my ear. It features the same Pow 2011 vocals of Lethal, JME, Wiley, 2 Face, Ghetto, P Money, Chipmunk + Kano but DJ Raph has slapped them over the hottest beats that have emerged from the Grime scene. I’m still trying to figure out what half the instrumentals are and I’m sure you’ll be in the same position too.
GV Feat Jaz Dhami - Putt Jatt Da
GV Feat T Minder - Gal Sunja
Firstly let me point out that if you haven’t purchased an album from iTunes this year then make this your change ready for 2011. There has been a consistent hype around the artist GV in the industry and to be fair, without hearing a note I was honestly considering whether the hype was justifiable. Not that I had much doubt but thankfully I was proven wrong and in the manner it was done by producing one of the best produced albums of 2010 brought a rye smile. An effective blend of UK talent new and established along with the hottest vocals from India’s finest topped off with production that brings elements from UK and the India perfectly together is the probably the best way I would describe it. One of the track’s that caught my ear featured the vocals of a new singer that has recently been signed up by the Moviebox label, T Minder. The track goes by the name of Gal Sunja and you can check out the track above along with another favourite of mine from the album, Putt Jatt Da featuring hit vocalist Jaz Dhami.
A year to this day we saw the first ever winner of the BritAsia Superstar, Ajay Balkar. Featuring what sounds to be the production of Jeeti (unconfirmed), Ajay brings us Ehnaka Kalia, a desi number that will surely our Bhangra feets tapping. For me since he sang his version of the Sukhwinder Singh classic, Lahee Vi Na Gayee, I always compare his voice to the same man. I look forward to hearing more from Ajay, possibly on a few slow numbers as I think his range would suit perfectly.
Check out the promos for one of the hottest and talented producers to enter UK Bhangra, GV. Featuring on his forthcoming album, From The Ground Up, the album is sure to be a production diamond that sits in the rough. Sure I will be blogging a lot more of this artist in the future. His first ever has already hit our screens which features the young hit singer, Jaz Dhami. GV also released his first single from the same album recently which you listen to in its full entirety below. Ensure you purchase from iTunes now.GV feat Jati Cheed - Hai Oh Rabba
DJ Sanj feat Satwinder Birdi - Mitran Di Jaan
Sometimes I think whether I should actually blog weaker releases within the Bhangra industry. Partly I think I should support the industry by promoting decent tracks but also informing the audience of what I feel about the album/EP. Unfortunately this EP isn’t really that great for the consumer. Almost five pounds for two new tracks, two remixes and two instrumentals but again don’t let me be the judge, go to iTunes and check it out for yourself. In this case, having iTunes allowing you to purchase an individual track is a win for us, the consumer. The only minor highlight for me was the main first track featuring the vocals of Satwinder Birdi, hit play and enjoy.
Midland Boyz (Sone Munde Midland De) - Midland Boyz The Band
From the album Point Blank, check out one of my favourite hits from the year 1995. Midland Boyz The Band (whom my father once played drums for) set Bhangra in the Midlands alight with this dancefloor classic. Apologies for the slight dip in quality half way through, you can still enjoy and I shall upload a better mp3 file in the future.
Sharry Mann – Yaar Anmulle (G-Ta Dubstep Remix)
Every now and again I came across the name G-Ta be it on my Twitter timeline or listening through radio (Bobby Friction knows his music). Today I took the step of finding out what the hype was all about. To be fair, I had already heard glimpses of illest Kukkad and Eyes Lit but never actually caught on with who actually produced these gems. Luckily today I found through G-Ta’s Twitter feed that he had recently jumped onto remix a track which is currently blowing up Panjab right now, Sharry Mann’s Yaar Anmulle. Delving through his soundcloud collection, I was blown away by some of the tracks this producer has. Being in a stage of loving my Dubstep right now, this is an artist that ticks every box of mine and is the main reason why I bring his music to you. Check out the dubstep remix of Sharry Mann’s classic above along with his Challa and Sharaabi refixes below. Enjoy.
Challa Dub G-Ta Remix
Sharaabi G-Ta Mashup
Visuals released for the female version on the Game Over beat which features Ruff Diamondz, Adot, Envy, CherriV, BabyBlue, RoxXxan, Lioness, Mz Bratt & Lady Leshurr. To be fair, bar Example’s verse on the original and Griminal/Maxsta/Ghetts verses on boys remix, there’s not much that defeats this remix.
