Bhinda Aujla + Ravi Bal – Ishq (Official Video)
Before the dust is allowed to settle from the thunder-track Dhann Kaur (Haneri EP) which sent tremors through the musical stratosphere, Ravi Bal sweeps through swiftly with the smoothest ballad collaborating the vocals of his musical protégé, Bhinda Aujla.
From the get-go, the beautiful and melodious sarangi set’s the premise for the anchor track, Ishq, which is taken from the forthcoming 8 track album The Producers. Whilst this is the first time we’ve heard Aujla sing on a slower BPM, Ravi Bal perfectly creates the bedding with another Midas Touch composition that combines enticing piano pieces, smooth harmonies and alluring percussion completing another Bal Cinematic-esque production.
Filmed in Rajasthan, Sandeep Sharma creates a picturesque visual which compliments the ballad perfectly with scenes that are striking, vivid and rich. With the album set to release in the next few hours, stay locked onto the blog to read our full review of The Producers which will be posted imminently.

Hapee Singh – Kaliyugi Mirza (Album)
Hapee Singh - Rasmma
Hapee Singh - Pyar Ch Pagal
Released earlier via Moviebox and Speed Records, Hapee Singh releases another album to add to his discography. Whilst the covers and inlay state that Bhinda Aujla was the architect behind quite a solidly produced album, its evident to hear that perhaps this is not the 100 per cent truth with our ears magnetising towards RBP and the Bat Cave Studios. Entitled Kaliyugi Mirza, the disc features the title song with the same name featuring Bhinda Aujla and HRC for which the audio appeared earlier this year. Whilst this appears to be the lead track, it was tracks like Dil Da Ilaaz that had our repeat button going on overtime, the harmonies, flute pieces and strings from the guitar really sets this track apart from the rest with Manjit Pandori penning the lyrics adding another gem of a track to his collection. As always, we’ve selected a couple of our favourite tracks from the album to ensure you get a good selection before purchasing for yourselves. Click the iTunes link below to do this.
Mixman Shawn + Bhinda Aujla + Simar Kaur – Dhokhebaazi
Bay Area’s Mixman Shawn has recently made Dhokhebaazi available to listen to via SoundCloud, and is a duet featuring polarising vocalist Bhinda Aujla partnering Simar Kaur. The track smoothly meshes contemporary beats with a folk melody to deliver a rather warm, mellow vibe.
Some listeners may not immediately appreciate Mix’s Punjabi rap that kicks off affairs but I don’t believe it is overbearing, nor does it detract from what is a well-constructed, polished product. The hefty percussion is cut nicely with the flute-pieces and intermittent tumbi-riffs to give Dhokhebaazi an added dimension. Simar Kaur’s vocals fit the bill and are a pleasant change to the usual but its Bhinda Aujla’s vocals that prove to be a revelation… He sounds refreshing as the singer produces one of the most graceful performances we’ve heard from Bhinda! Hit play and see if you dig this one from Mixman Shawn and Co.
